Most visitors come to Huahine by plane. The direct flight from Tahiti-Faa’a International Airport takes about 40 minutes and you’ll have a superb view of Moorea on the way. You can also fly from Bora Bora, Raiatea or Moorea, which takes from 20 to 35 minutes. There is the option of a passenger ferry which takes about 4 hours. And if money’s no object, a helicopter company in Tahiti will be delighted to fly you there.

Getting around in Huahine

There are several car rental companies on the island and you can also hire a motor scooter, bike or e-bike. If you prefer, you can travel like the locals do, on the ‘truck’, the taditional and colorful bus service in French Polynesia. To explore the lagoon, you can charter a yacht, with or without skipper, or hire a kayak, paddleboard or outrigger canoe. There is also a very comprehensive range of excursions and boat trips to ensure that you get to see all the sights and sites of this fascinating island.
