This is an eco-tour: wild landscapes, lush tropical vegetation, endemic and medicinal plants, atypical villages, historical and archaeological sites, magnificent viewpoints… An island of beauty. The guides are present to inform you about all these plants and their uses in the daily life of the Polynesians.
You will visit a vanilla plantation and you will have the possibility to buy some on the spot, after a detailed presentation of all the stages of the vanilla culture.
This is a cultural and historical tour: you will take a short walk around the archeological sites of the village of Maeva to see the ancient temples called “Marae”, the house museum “Fare Potee”, the fish trap on the lake Fauna. The guides will animate this tour with stories and legends.
This is a discovery tour: at the village of Faie, you will visit the blue-eyed eels known as sacred. Then, you will discover the only pearl farm and pottery on the island which will reveal the secrets of the black pearl and the Peter Owen pottery. His pottery is made with enamel from the bottom of the lagoon that he found while pearl farming, giving a unique color to his creations. Take this opportunity to treat yourself to a unique jewel or pottery from a renowned artist.
Tours can be in groups or privately, and itineraries can be changed at the clients’ convenience with the option of a one-hour hike up Matairea Hill in Maeva, visiting archaeological sites and arriving at a beautiful viewpoint.
Individual rates are 6000FCP per adult and 3000FCP per child 5-11 years old.
We offer a private rate at less than 50% or 18000FCP (instead of 36000FCP) for a minimum of one pax and a maximum of 8 pax.
